Twitter Hacked!

Twitter was hit with a massive hack on Wednesday as some 50,000 user names and passwords were posted to the internet. This leak spanned five pages on Pastebin, a site where hackers post illegal files and hacks.

Twitter claims a major part of this information appears to be garbage (really?), in which there are many duplicates, some belonging to suspended spammers, and those that are believed to be fake accounts generated by robots.

Analysis of a random selection of 20 of these accounts revealed that none had more than six followers, all that weren't suspended were following thousands of people, all had similar passwords that looked auto-generated and many had unanswered messages asking them to confirm their email addresses.

As a form of precaution, the company is pushing for password resets to affected accounts. This is not the first of its type as the company has suffered a high degree of attacks a few years back, notably in 2009, where some high profile Twitter members, including President Obama, lost control of their accounts.

Here are the published leaks: one, two, three, four, and five. You may want to check these out… e fit be you oo!
