The Facebook Phone?

The rumor about Facebook working on its own smartphone has been in the mills for a while and there are no signs that things are about to change. The social networking giant are cooking things up in the smartphone department to compete with the likes of Apple and Google.

Anonymous sources says that Facebook has already snapped up half a dozen former Apple engineers that helped develop the iPhone and the iPad in its efforts to build a smartphone. The company's earlier attempts at making its own phone - which it never admitted to, but were widely speculated upon - failed because it did not have the right hardware engineers to make it happen.

Certain smartphones released by HTC and INQ in the past have carried the "Facebook phone" tag with them because of the deep integration with the social network that they offered, but none of them were an official smartphone from Facebook itself.

I am not sure how I feel about this but this is a pool too deep for Zuckerberg to swim. Whether or not this will receive wide acceptance, the competition will definitely produce some twists to really look up to… **grabs Gala and La Casera**
