Google announced the Google Wallet in May as a new innovative payment platform on smartphones using an embedded NFC (Near Field Communication) chip that lets you make payments by simply tapping the phone near a payment processor.
You'll need to activate a credit card that is accepted by the vending machine before it can be used for transactions.
The process looked excessively simple and automated during Google’s in-house demonstration. Real world use could prove to be more "complicated", but we are hopeful.
And oh! the Google Wallet is currently an Android OS application running on the Nexus S on Sprint so even the Nexus S for both T-Mobile and AT&T will have to wait until a deal is struck with those carriers. iOS, Blackberry OS, Symbian OS? You will have to take the chill pill... sorry.
Bye, bye to pick pockets? (just thinking).
