GOOGLE: The Web Giant, The Watts Monster!

With thousands of queries hitting the web giant every second, I can’t help but wonder how on earth they get to survive these  myriad of requests, serve us what we demand and keep everybody happy.
I have worked with serviettes servers and routers before so I know the kinda power such electronic monsters are always fed with. Talking about equipment at a company like Google… please do not go there!

The BlackBerry Empathy.

Even reviewing the concept behind the design of this “crazy” phone gives me goose pimples. Gone are those days when we connect with contacts stored on our phones via calls and text messages: it is about time we started sharing the moods of our friends and relatives via the Blackberry Empathy.

The concept device was designed by Kiki Tang and Daniel Yoon for a RIM sponsored project at the Art Center College of Design.

Nokia N9: Thanks, But No Thanks.

The Nokia N9 is surely a candidate for one of the most pleasant, fast and thoughtfully designed phones you are going to see around. There’s a lot of things to like about the N9: (bullet) the quality and responsiveness of the touch screen, the nifty ‘swiping’ features, the general look and feel of the (unibody) hardware, the navigation and ‘Drive’ applications, the curved glass, the camera quality, the way notifications work, the incoming updates river view, the lack of buttons, built-in NFC capabilities, and so on. Thumbs up Nokia!

An App To Help You Sleep Better

I sensed it coming and now it's finally here! We tend to think of sleep as a pretty low-tech experience. The pillow is, and will likely remain, a decidedly non-digital device.

Clash Of The Titans!

The war is officially on: It's Google+ vs. Facebook, in the battle to become the biggest or best global social network.

After rolling out a three-month test phase with limited openings, Google+ is now open to the general public for sign-up and use. Google's new social network site has also integrated its search engine into the design (which is pretty cool), and expanded its "Handouts" video chat feature for mobile use and broadcasting.
